Why We Started Cork & Courier

wine and game night

We started Cork & Courier because finding good wine shouldn’t be this difficult.

Grocery store shelves are packed, but many of those bottles are mass-produced, full of additives, or just uninspired. We tried a few wine subscriptions ourselves and were often disappointed. Too many bottles had turned in transit or felt like filler, and they weren’t something we’d be proud to share around the table

So we decided to build something better. Something slower, more thoughtful, and rooted in real care.

We are a women-owned, locally based small business invested in our New Kent County community. Every bottle we deliver is chosen with intention and brought to your door by hand, so it arrives fresh and ready to enjoy. We work with trusted importers and small producers who prioritize sustainability and minimal intervention, and we curate each box to bring a little joy to everyday life.

Cork & Courier was created for people who care about what they drink and who they support. We’re proud to serve our neighbors with wine that feels personal. Because to us, it is.

Discover something new. Without leaving home.

Why We Match Wine the Way We Do

We believe wine should match more than your meal. It should match your moment.

Maybe that moment is a slow dinner with friends. Maybe it’s a quiet glass on the porch after the kids go to bed. Maybe it’s just Tuesday, and you made it through the day.

We choose wines that pair with the season, your mood, and real life. A crisp white for open windows. A bold red for around the fire. A sparkling rosé just because it feels good. Each month’s selection is meant to surprise you, comfort you, or give you something to look forward to. Sometimes all three.

We also include simple food pairing ideas and easy recipes to enhance the experience. Nothing fancy, just thoughtful suggestions that make your glass even more enjoyable. That said, you never need to cook to enjoy what we deliver! Sometimes, wine is the moment.

Our hope is that what we bring to your door becomes part of your rhythm. A little pause. A little celebration. A little joy.
